Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence!
Because I had too much fun doing this last time. :)
Disclaimer: this entirely subjective list is based solely off of early buzz and speculation yada yada yada... LET'S FIGHT
1.) Star Trek (May 8)

Despite the most obvious reason, I am ridiculously excited to see this movie... and I never thought I would be. After the Next Generation fizzled out with Nemesis and Enterprise was cancelled due to poor ratings, I remember thinking it was due time for the Star Trek franchise to die. And when they first announced that J.J. Abrams was set to reboot the franchise by recasting the original crew, I thought, NO! That's a terrible idea! Star Trek is about the progressivism of the human condition, not individual characters like Kirk and Spock! But the more I learned about this new production, the more intrigued I became. Soon I heard the spectacular casting announcements, followed by some eyebrow-raising leaked plot points... and then I got to witness the revolutionary production designs first-hand. Suddenly I understood that Mr. Abrams had something incredibly special in his hands, a film that respected established continuity while breathing fresh new life into an aging franchise, exactly what I loved so much about Superman Returns. Live long and prosper, bitches. ^_^
2.) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (May 1)

I am extremely excited and extremely worried for this movie at the same time. On one hand, it's Hugh Jackman's Wolverine squaring off against one of my favorite actors as Victor Creed in a film heavily influenced by one of my favorite trade paperbacks... but the more I hear about fan favorite characters like Emma Frost and Gambit appearing in an origin story in which they should have no involvement, the more I get the feeling this movie might be pandering a little too much. But goddammit, motherfuckin' WOLVERINE!!! It's gonna be AWESOME... right? Right?!
3.) Watchmen (March 6)

It took 23 years (my entire life, mind you) for this movie, an adaptation of an incredible graphic novel widely regarded to be "unfilmable," to finally get made. And while I'm not entirely sure if I trust the film in Zack Snyder's very capable but unsubtle hands, I'm just excited this is FINALLY happening... so long as 20th Century Fox's bullshit lawsuit doesn't stop it from happening. *flips off Fox*
4.) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (June 26)

Michael Bay's Transformers was the greatest guilty pleasure of 2007. Did Barricade survive? I hope so, cuz I wanna see Bumblebee fuck his shit up again. :D
5.) Fanboys (February 6... for now at least)

GODDAMN YOU HARVEY WEINSTEIN, WILL YOU PLEASE JUST STOP BEING AN ASSWIPE AND RELEASE THE ORIGINAL CUT OF THIS MOVIE INSTEAD OF DELAYING IT ANOTHER TWO YEARS PLZ KTHXBYE.
6.) Up (May 29)

Yeah I'll admit it, the only reason this is on the list is because it's by Pixar. But Pixar has yet to make a film I haven't loved. And so far, this one, the last original work of theirs until 2012, looks very promising. :)
7.) Terminator Salvation (May 22)

A post-Judgment Day T4? Yes! Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese? YES! Christian Bale as John Connor? FUCK YES!!! Directed by McG? Woooaaah ok um... yeeeeeeaaah... let's not get TOO excited about this one.
8.) Adventureland (March 27)

The rather amusing trailer really hit home, reminding me a great deal about my bittersweet days working at Six Flags. And it's directed by Superbad's Greg Mottola. I'm hooked. :)
9.) Inglourious Basterds (August 21)

Quentin Tarantino's long-awaited World War II epic, something he's been talking about since Pulp Fiction. And I actually got my hands on a copy of the script, but opted not to spoil its surprises. :)
10.) Fast & Furious (April 3)

As soon as I heard they were reteaming the entire original cast, I got so fucking psyched. I know it ain't gonna win any Oscars next year, but omg, dude... that trailer. Does it not get you PUMPED?!? :D Almost makes you forget there was ever any of that Tokyo Drift crap.
11.) Brüno (May 15)

Because Sacha Baron Cohen is a comic genius who is exceptionally dedicated to his art. Maybe too much so.
12.) Avatar (December 18)

Not to be confused with M. Night Shyamalan's adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," James Cameron's Avatar is his long-awaited return to science fiction after an 18-year hiatus. I'm intrigued. Now if we could just get a trailer...
13.) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (July 17)

Let's cut to the chase: I think Harry Potter is highly overrated. But I love the direction the films have taken, which I think has progressively improved with each chapter (and I loved Order of the Phoenix). I'm looking forward to the next one. :)
14.) The Wolfman (November 6)

Benicio del Toro as Larry Talbot with Rick Baker's Oscar-winning makeup effects. Also Anthony Hopkins. HAWT.
15.) Monsters vs. Aliens (March 27)

I never thought I'd be excited for a Dreamworks animated film, but dammit that trailer had me laughing my ass off.
Because I had too much fun doing this last time. :)
